About the event

Upper East Tennessee Celtic Festival 2026

September 4, 5, and 6, 2026

Tipton-Haynes State Historic Site, Johnson City, Tennessee

The Appalachian Highland Celts invite you to the Upper East Tennessee Celtic Festival, three days of music, athletics, craft, worship, and clan gathering on one of the most storied pieces of land in our region. The festival celebrates the living heritage of the Scots-Irish families who came down the Great Wagon Road, settled the coves and ridges of Upper East Tennessee, and shaped the music, language, and character of these mountains.

We gather on the grounds of Tipton-Haynes State Historic Site, where families have stood since the 1700s. The setting is part of the story.

Whether your people came through Pennsylvania, the Carolinas, or out of County Antrim itself, whether you have been tracing your family for years or are just beginning to wonder where your name comes from, this is…
